Screening Systems

Cost-effective supply

IHC Parts & Services designs and builds on-board screening towers for the production of sand or gravel to many different specifications. Installation design is optimised to a specific vessel and built to respond to the needs of various screening tasks.

Screening is the mechanical separation of particles by size, generally by passing the base material over a uniformly perforated surface that acts as a go/no-go gauge. Particles above a certain size are retained above the surface, while smaller particles pass through. This means that a selection of the material with the right specification can be made on the vessel. The composition of the gravel, the sailing distance to the discharge location and the limited capacity of the hopper mean that screening on board is commercially attractive.

Benefits

 • right separation of particles
 • optimal use of vessel capacity
 • equal spread of material
 • convenient filling of hopper barges.
