Stationary suction mouth

The IHC Parts & Services stationary suction mouth is a simple and robust device designed for efficient extraction of bottom material and use on all suction pipes.

It consists of a steel pipe piece with a welded flange at one end and a second pipe fitted around it. With stationary dredging there is a risk of burying a suction mouth as a result of cave-ins. If this should happen, water flows in between the two pipes towards the entrance so preventing blocking of the pipeline. It is thus self-freeing. The fitting of optional jet water nozzles naturally optimises material production and assists in freeing the suction mouth.

Various dimensions

With no moving parts, the stationary suction mouth is very maintenance friendly. It can be built in various dimensions in a selection of wear-resistant materials. A grid prevents intake of oversize material and blockage of the pump. The suction mouth can be installed on many types of vessel and work at any depth.
