Meeting extreme demands in dredging
IHC Parts & Services special gearboxes have been designed to meet the many extreme demands in dredging, such as underwater application, effective take-up of loads from dredge equipment, and precise control of output speed. Robustness and reliability are key factors in design.
Dredge wheel drive
Parts & Services designs various gearboxes for powering dredging wheels. They are suitable for use down to a depth of 30 meters and can take up dredging loads to pass these on to the ladder. Technical specifications of one of the largest built:
Underwater dredge pump drive
Another application for a gearbox developed by Parts & Services is the powering of underwater dredge pumps. The impeller of the pump is directly mounted on the output shaft of the gearbox. The bearing system of the gearbox can take up the pump loads directly. A high speed electric motor and dredge pump are directly mounted on the gearbox. Technical specifications of one manufactured version include:
Variblock
A special gearbox developed and patented by Parts & Services is the Variblock. Here the input speed is constant and the output speed is continuously variable within certain limits at constant transmitted power. »» read more
The Combi-gearbox
The Combi-gearbox is a reduction gearbox with the input shaft linked by an integrated clutch to a diesel engine. The pump is directly mounted on the gearbox and the pump bearings are integrated. The impeller is directly fitted on the output shaft. All loads from the pump are absorbed by the gearbox. It has short build-in dimensions by avoiding the use of a seperate bearing block.
