Two ways of installation

The first is as an integral chain of buckets in which each bucket forms a link in the chain. Its primary advantage is that there is no support chain necessary though all buckets must be present to operate.

The second is one in which each bucket is fitted independently on a separate carrier chain. The advantages of this design include the transmission of load through the chain, each bucket is independent of the load exerted on neighbouring buckets and the assembly can continue to work even if buckets are missing or damaged. The bearing equipped carrier chain also offers the benefits of longer operational life and significantly lower noise output.
